Hello,
Deck the Halls. Ride in a one horse open sleigh. See Dasher, Dancer, Donder, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Prancer, and Vixen, and of course Rudolph and Jack the reindeer in training. And don't forget to give. Even if you've got no money, you can give the gift of reading and, helping out at places like the seniors home or the adoption center. I am giving the gift of reading to Joe and a very nice elderly woman named Lucy. Lucy thinks I have a wonderful voice. I just met her last week. Joe seems to be going uphill. It's a miracle that he got and stayed out of hospice. I think that I have gotten better in public speaking.
Question of the day: Which two reindeer have had name changes, what were they before, why did they change them and what did they mean. Answer on Friday.

Meet Joe Masters

Hello,
Exciting news today. Joe is off hospice!!! Before I started coming, Joe was in his room a whole lot. Now every time I see him he is out in the dining room or giving halloween candy to little kids. I have a picture of Joe right above.
Also we are trying to build a pyramid to complete a study on metaphysics.
Question of the day: Do you know anybody who has been removed from hospice?

Joe Master may be dying.
Today we went to see Joe Master again.
He was at the dining room this morning rather than in his room.
I read two articles from the newspaper this morning to him. He seems to like me reading to him.
We talked about a western movie I saw this week, called Angel and the Badman. Joe did not seem to know about it.
I also heard last week that Joe was on hospice. I almost cried when I heard about it.
It is a wonderful oppurtunity to be able to spesk with Joe every week.
Question of the day: If you did any work with the seniors, what were there names?

Seniors home Part 2
Today we went to the Senior's home to see Joe Master. I was originally nervous about seeing Joe. I got to the Senior's home and took a few deep breaths before asking for Ali, the activites director. When she came up, she took us to her office so I could sign in. After that we went to Joe's room. I was really nervous to knock on the door because he was asleep, so Grandma did it for me. We said "hello" and sat down.
I started a conversation by asking if he had always lived in Oregon. He used to live in Ohio, like me! He told us about some pictures that are hanging on his walls. One of hem is a sketch of him and his wife.
He continuously told us he was trying to put our faces together. (so, so sad:*() I really just wanted to pick him up and cuddle him.
He introduced me to a new movie genre, Western, as an added benefit I get to watch one.
He apparently likes football as well.
All over all, it was really great!
Question of the day: Did you ever do any volunteering at the Senior's home?

Today we went to the seniors home, and met a very nice man named *John Master. He seemed to think about everything before he said it. I quite like him. I get to spend every Friday morning with him. I am very excited. I am also practicing Danish for the big trip to Denmark next summer!

My weekend
Dear readers,
Exciting news; I went on my first official People to People trip, and learned some interesting facts about Pioneer Square in Portland.
One of them was about the little water four sided water fountains you see on the streets. They are called Benson Bubblers. The reason Benson created the bubblers, is because the only place you could get water is at a bar. When you got water at the bar, you had to buy alcohol at the same time. Back then, there were a lot of trees, being loaded on boats. No one wanted to be part of the crew on any of those boats, but the captain needed a crew. So, the owners of the bar drugged the people who came to get water, making them sleep for 48 hours. They would then, drag them on the boats, through underground tunnels. Since they were normally on a trip to Shang Hai this was commonly known as being Shang Hai'ed
On Saturday, I went to an even called Doggie Dash. In this event you could get a free pancake breakfast, have a chance at winning prizes, and go on a walk. I took my Aunt and her dog and my Grandma and Grandpa and their dog. This was partly for the Humane Society and K103 hosted it.
Question of the day: Do you know why there is so much art in Pioneer Square?

Just Ben Franklin and Me
Hello,This is Ben Franklin and Me------>
As I said in my last blog, I'm going to Australia for the People To People program! I earned this $100 bill for this trip! I have been doing fundraising programs to raise the $5,000 dollar fee to go to Australia! So far I have done a bake sale, and some work for some of my grandma and grandpa's friends. Next I'm going to do a concession stand at a Taekwondo tournament, and a Magic The Gathering (If you look in one of the earlier blogs, it'll tell you what it is.) tournament. So far I have made $145. I'm hoping that I can raise enough money to go. And I think It's a great opportunity to make new friends. All over all, I think it's going to be a great trip.
Question of the day: How many Ben Franklin's have you made?

Long time, No blog
Hello.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Seattle Aquarium. In doing so I finished up the sharks and fish subjects, and started a Sculpting subject. Some of the highlights were.
Eating in a Bistro, on a train.
Listening to my grandma every time the trains arrival time went up a minute. Here's what she would say in a guttural voice. "Oh god, now we are never going to be there on time."
Watching an octopus eat a crab.
Flicking a straw into somebodies hair. Here's my face *-()
*
And drinking a frappucino from the first Starbucks EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All over all it was a fun day.
Question of the day: What is your favorite aquarium that you have been to?

New year, New focus
Hello, and Happy New Year,
Today we started a new unit on sharks!
Yesterday we went to an aquarium and found out that next time somebody eats fish and chips, they may be eating shark meat!!
After we found out that surprising fact we went to a touch pool and touched several different fish!!
Then we went to the actual aquarium and saw sharks and fish and flounders and anchovies that every time they opened their mouth their gills spread apart and it looked like their throats were falling apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question of the day: What shark do you think looks the coolest?
